Budget 2023 to date- 4th quarter still pending.
A few checks that have not cleared yet- Dumpster Day $5600 to HBS, Attorney for September. Admin for 3rd quarter.
Budget variances: The Mail house roof was repaired with major roof repair at a larger cost than budgeted, at $6800. Mowing and Trails costs were increased because they were mowed 4 times. Normal yearly mowing is 2 times.
Budget 2024 Considered – Final to be voted on by the board by Jan 1, 2024
Will align with 2023 without the 2023 varied costs.
Proposed Events 2024- Dumpster day and Community Picnic – Volunteers
committed for these two events.
Proposed date for 2024- 1 dumpster day. June 8th. Proposing 10-12 Dumpsters. 2023 numbers -62 loads in June. And 40 in September.
Community Picnic Proposal August 10th, 2024. Possible Food trucks, bouncy houses etc. Please email Linda with more ideas at [email protected]
Resolutions Update- Process of being Reviewed and Updated by the HOA attorney. To reflect new laws in effect.
2019 was the last year that the Resolutions were updated. The Attorney is reviewing the changes for this HOA to post new rules possible update in December on the website.
Police Dept Welcome and safety information for the Community
Safety with mitigation and mowing property. Emails and texts sent regarding safety. Information will continue to be sent out to all residents.
Tim Norton Elbert County Sheriff. Currently the Dept is short staffed with 3 deputies on at any one time. Currently working with the Commissioners to bring on more staff. 30% increase in calls this past year. Current #1 complaint in the County is speeders. Office has a speed sign it parks around the County. Model traffic code was provided, and the budget is going to cars. Cameras- 12 Stationary Flock Cameras have gone up to take a picture of the license plate. If it is registered as an alert, stolen vehicles, wanted cars. It alerts all Department computers and Dispatch. If there is no alert attached to the plate, then the information is stored without further review.
Encourage the residents of Elbert County to reach out to the commissioners to adjust the pay, retirement, and benefits to be comparable to other Counties for Law Enforcement to grow.
2 Detectives in Elbert County – Currently they are handling 70 cases each.
Elbert County Posse- saves 150K/yr. Volunteers for all Community Events/ traffic. Keep the peace until an officer can get there. Looking for Volunteers. 10 hours a month. Contact the Sheriffs office to volunteer.
Events- Christmas with the Sheriff at the Elbert County Fairgrounds. Pictures are free- December 2nd. Other activities offered. Check Elbert County Sheriffs Facebook page for additional information.
Back the Badges Foundation- Fundraiser at Messer Arena.
A second K-9 has been acquired by the Dept through a donation.
Additional Information for Residents –
The playground at the Church is for Community use- however if the kids are not safe on the equipment, then the Church will have to take the equipment out. Safety and Liability are a concern. Please remind your children’s safety is a priority.
Roundtable meeting- come and talk with them so they can take any suggestions or concerns back to the Commissioners.
Fundraiser for the Ramsey Family at the Fire House
Mail house- please be considerate of collecting your mail in a timely manner- Sharon is going above to try and get all parcels in boxes available. This is not a requirement of USPS this is a courtesy. Please pick up mail in a timely manner. Do not drop off any household items or trash in the mail house- there is no trash pick-up.
Any Buildings or fences added to the properties need to be approved by the HOA just for setback and easement purposes. Approval and PIN location is free to all residents. Size, color etc. are not required to be approved.
